Laptop turns on but freezes during boot
In this case, the laptop receives power and displays an image, but does not complete the system startup. Possible causes vary: an update failure, a system error, a drive issue, or another component failure. You cannot decide that an OS reinstallation is needed based on the boot screen alone. Write down or take a photo of the error text and note what happened before it appeared: an update, a drop, a power outage, or another event. Disconnect external drives and other non-essential devices, then try restarting the laptop once. If there are important files on the laptop without a backup, do not reset the system or start a reinstallation before checking the consequences for the data.
When you need service
